Letter From the Vice President

Thank you for considering Lumber Specialties as your engineered wood and building component supplier.  The information in the brochure illustrates the various products our company can offer you and your customers ranging from Boise I-Joist, LVL, and Glulam, to roof and floor trusses as well as wall panels.

Our employees are eager to show you our commitment to providing quality products, delivered on time, all at a competitive price.  The following is information that sets us apart from other component suppliers.

  1. We use only Machine Stress Rated (MSR) or Machine Evaluated Lumber (MEL) for our chords and a higher grade of web material for our roof and floor trusses.  This helps reduce breakage when being installed and produces an overall better looking product with more predictable performance.  The webs in our roof trusses also typically require fewer lateral braces than our competitors when designed with the same loads.
  2. We are third party inspected by the Truss Plate Institute (TPI) and, moreover, are certified by the Wood Truss Council of America (WTCA) for our in-house quality program.  These programs help us maintain our top quality manufacturing and ensure that our customers get the best product every time.
  3. Our experienced technical staff ensures that the products are designed per the latest codes and standards for the area they are being shipped to.  We design all the roof trusses for wind loads and unbalanced snow loads as required by code.  Some truss manufacturers may not design for these unless specifically asked to do so.  Our large experienced staff is readily available to help solve even the most difficult framing problems at hand on the drop-of-a-dime.
  4. Lumber Specialties has a state-of-the-art delivery fleet that can deliver products on time, every time, with friendly and courteous drivers and roll-off trailers.
  5. Lumber Specialties sales staff is second to none.  We have inside and outside salesmen that are knowledgeable in all aspects of trusses, I-Joist, and framing practices.  They are all readily available to be of assistance when needed.
  6. Lumber Specialties production areas run three shifts non-stop to help ensure you get your product when you need it.  Moreover, if for any reason you need something the next day, we have extra capacity built into our system to get those occasional HOT orders out quickly.

Feel free to visit our website at www.lbrspec.com or contact us at 1-800-228-0290 should you require any additional technical information concerning Lumber Specialties and its products.

We look forward to discussing our products for your construction needs.

Sincerely,

Dennis Westhoff

Vice President of Sales
