Building solutions and engineered wood products

BCI Joists are engineered to start straighter and stay straighter. Longer and stronger than traditional solid sawn lumber joists, they have more load carrying capacity, so fewer pieces are needed to frame the average floor. In addition to standard applications, BCI Joists can be used for cantilever joists in balconies, cathedral ceilings, high pitch roof framing, and expanding conventionally framed construction.

BCI 500 series (2" LVL flange)
The BCI Joist Advantages
  • More uniform strength, stiffness, size, weight, and appearance than solid sawn lumber
  • Less likely to shrink, twist split, or crown
  • Lightweight, easy to install
  • Long length capabilities of 60’ (and longer readily available)
  • Accepted by major building codes
